BUTTERMILK SYRUP From the Ward Breakfast

BUTTERMILK SYRUP
(featured at the recent ward breakfast)
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup butter
2 cup sugar
2 Tbsp. Karo Syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda

Using a very large pan boil buttermilk, butter and sugar. Add Karo syrup, vanilla and soda turn off heat. (When you add the baking soda, this will expand. Thus a large pan is needed to prevent a sticky mess all over your stove.) You can store this in the fridge for a few weeks, or in the freezer for a few months; just reheat the desired amount and enjoy! Makes ANY pancake or waffle taste delicious (even pancakes cooked outside at a ward activity ).
